I've been getting more lovely notes and photos from people who have purchased Giving Shelter and again I share them with you. Thank you, everyone!
With the guitar is Marianne Sullivan from Chicago's Chicks with Picks pausing on stage at a gig to help promote the CD. Marianne lost her mom to cancer the same year I lost Janine. She also has written to me asking "permission to perform "Magic" her shows." "Heck yeah, Marianne!" is my response.
Sitting on the car with his headphones and iPod is Garfield Benton, "son" of Chris Benton, a doctor from New Zealand who was one of the first to purchase the digital download. Chris is a healer and his lovely bride is also very involved in hospice in New Zealand. Very creative way of touting what Chris has said via email to me is "his favorite CD outside of any by Elton John" (hence the hat on Garfield and the license plate on Chris' car).
Bob and Stef Fredette from Massachusetts are a lovely couple who have had their fill of cancer in their world and wanted to do something to make a difference. Bob "hadn't bought a CD in years but his wife and collegiate son are glad he did."
Here's Renee Antoinetti from Connecticut. Renee heard about Giving Shelter through a colleague who was playing the CD and wanted to buy the digital download version but accidentally clicked on the CD version. I'm glad she did because her photo shows that she's a lovely lady with a huge heart. She's had cancer in her world too and wrote to me that "it's about time someone actually thought about the patients and families and not just research." Thank you Renee for pitching in on our efforts to make a difference!
These two selfies are of Maggi Barboza and Kippy Kramer. Maggi and Kippy wouldn't let me give them CD's even though they were worthy of gifts as they were so important to Janine and me during her battle. Maggi predicted after Janine died that I'd get back into music and do something wonderful that Janine would be proud of - even before I thought of doing the CD. Kippy and Maggi used to drive up from Oceanside, CA to visit us at the hospital. They are now living in Michigan, way up north. I miss them very much but want to give them their props for being great friends and for buying the CD instead of taking a "handout."
